The Linksys re6700 extender comes with the default SSID network name and password which are common obviously. But, once you complete the linksys re6700 setup, you must change it for its identity and security purposes. Otherwise, your configured network will appear and look the same in the list as there will be some similar networks in your neighborhood. Whereas, talking about the password, the default one is easy to access and there can be some unauthorized users to it if you don’t change it. That’s why you must replace both things and set the new ones from the advanced settings portal.
